As a boy I wanted to be a mailman. Then a policeman. Then Batman. By the time I got around to college as a young man, I had no idea what I wanted to do. A year into college I took a PR class on a whim. It took me a couple weeks to realize that something was different: I enjoyed reading the textbook. That had never happened before.

Don’t get me wrong, I love to read. Growing up I was at the beach almost everyday, body surfing, playing volleyball or reading “The Lord of the Rings” in the sand. But after reading thick books about biology or chemistry, reading about PR professionals felt like lying in warm sand after getting out of cold water. It felt right.

When it comes to PR, you know that every day will bring something new. For me, that guarantee is exciting, which is why I started working as a freelance writer specializing in PR, Marketing, and SEO. I love my work as a freelance writer because it gives me the chance to connect with people who are making a difference in the industry, to write about new topics that I would never have explored, and to try to see the world in a different light with each article and each audience.

I might not fulfill my childhood aspiration to become Batman in my lifetime, but I think I’m okay with that. Working as a freelance writer is, for me, just as exciting.

Why PR? Why freelance?

 BYU Years ... #GoCougs

I'm a California kid but my my whole family went to BYU. I was pretty excited when I got in.
I went for one year before I left to serve for two years as a missionary in Honduras and Texas. I learned the lovely language of Spanish and had a lot of life-changing experiences.
To my right are featured some of my best friends from BYU ... these guys made college life awesome. Fortunately, they didn't drop me on my head there.

Meet the Mrs.

This is Sarah!

After a year of hikes, road trips, movie nights, game nights, random adventures, shenanigans and all the other good things that come with courtship, we got married on August 20th, 2016.
She's super awesome. Everyone who meets her thinks she's the nicest thing ever, cause she really is! She has another year at BYU before she'll graduate in Nursing.
